The two largest Indus cities, Harappa and Mohenjo-daro, boasted street planning and sewage worthy of modern times, including the world’s earliest known toilets and an impressive brick water tank known as the Great Bath. It had a vigorous maritime export trade via the Arabian Sea, and archaeologists have found objects made in the Indus valley in Mesopotamian cities such as Ur and Akkad. “In a century of excavations, we have found just one depiction of fighting“Īll signs point to a prosperous and advanced society – one of history’s greatest. It is now regarded as the beginning of Indian civilisation and possibly the origin of Hinduism. The Indus civilisation flourished from about 2600 to 1900 BC. Was this a real, functioning utopia? If so, how did it survive, and why did it eventually disappear? But while Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt and ancient China gloried in warfare, it seems absent from the Indus valley. He puts things right, at the request of his friend and he experiences both joy for himself and gives it back as a result. Joy can come from putting right what hasn’t been right for a long time. But the deeper message is what would you want to clean up that would bring you more peace and joy before you shuffle off this mortal coil? On the surface, the film asks us what exciting things would you want to do if you were diagnosed with a terminal illness. That’s the hook. Are you actively engaged in bringing joy to others, through your way of being and through your actions?.Are you actively incorporating them into your daily life?.What thoughts, feelings, activities, and people bring you joy?. ![]() Think about it. How uplifting is that? And are there any downsides? There are none. ![]() The more important question is: What would your life be like if you acted as if it were true? What would it be like if your heart were blasted through with so much joy you couldn’t help but make everyone around you better, happier, sunnier and more joyful in the process? But what I want to tell you today is this. It doesn’t matter if it’s “true.” What if the “meaning” of life is that simple? What if it’s all about Joy, not only creating it in your own life, but also bringing joy to others?īut is it true? Is that what life is about? It sounds nice, but how can we possibly know for sure? We are, after all, mere mortals, merely players on this worldly stage. Life’s mysteries shall remain mysteries. The two questions ask us to deeply consider what life is about. ![]()
